There’s an alternative to the Lee-Harrison Starbucks. I’m looking at you, north Arlingtonians, there’s other coffee out there. Chill Zone is located on Harrison Street right nest door to Safeway in the former Mother’s Macaroons (RIP) space. It’s fairly unassuming from the outside, but walk in and you immediately want to take a seat with your caramel cinnamon latte and CHILL for a few minutes before getting back to your hectic day.
The atmosphere is modern, home-y and eclectic. There’s tons of Instgrammable worthy pockets to appeal to your personality – window watchers, table collaborators, floor sitters and couch dwellers. Daniel Bui (the owner) wanted everything in the cafe to be custom and made by them – the art, the photographs (he’s a wedding photographer by trade) and even the tables are all originals. It’s a great vibe.
The heart of the cafe is Vietnamese inspired which is reflected in the drinks and food menu. {Yes, they have delicious bites, too!} The Vietnamese coffee, a volcano mani bubble tea and their matcha milk teas are crowd favorites along with their their chill-zone wings. On the drink front the options are endless, but they have a menu and iPad with pictures to help narrow down your selections – go with the basics or try something completely different. If you like vanilla anything try any of their taro drinks. Try not smiling while sipping a purple beverage – it’s impossible.
Chill Zone needs to be on your must try list this week. Love this place!
