Background
Westover has an unmistakable nostalgic vibe about it. The majority of the community was built between 1939 and 1948 and is characterized by its hilly tree-lined streets, walkability, classic red-brick colonials and constant neighborhood activities. This pocket of Arlington has been noted on the National Register for Historic Places so the architecture surrounding the local businesses and even neighborhoods such as Dominion Hills feels a little throwback to a simpler era. However, the home prices do not. Prices here are high, and demand seems to keep growing year over year.

Some of Arlington’s most iconic establishments are here like the original Lost Dog Cafe, The Italian Store, Thai Noy (excellent take out but not delivery) and the unique Westover Market Beer Garden, buzzing with patrons and love music in the summers. Ayres Variety keeps the throwback vibe in place and is known to locals as “the place you can find anything you need.”
The Westover Farmers Market is huge draw to the community. Open Sundays all year round, it has about 30 vendors, all run by the community nonprofit called Field to Table. The rule of the market besides requiring all produce to be locally grown and produced – it was be grown or sourced within roughly 124 miles.
