North Arlington means the entire region as far as many are concerned, but here were talking more the 22207 zip code that is the middle of the Lee Highway corridor and includes well known communities such as Waverly Hills, Cherrydale, Yorktown, Williamsburg, Donaldson Run, Rivercrest, Country Club Hills, Lee Heights and Bellevue to Forest to name a few. On either end of North Arlington is Falls Church City and Rosslyn, both also along the “corridor”.
Homes here are a mix of architecture both old and new styles, but traditional brick colonial with additions reign supreme here. The proximity to DC is a huge draw – just far enough away, but close enough to not cause too much commuter angst. While North Arlington offers a bit of urban life, it’s hard to ignore the best of the burbs here. There are leafy streets, parks galore (nearly every block), miles of walking and biking trails, and plenty of locally owned eateries and shops just a block or 2 away from most homes. Arlingtonians don’t like to call themselves suburbanites, but their not exactly all urban either. What’s so urban about this area? Maybe the lack of driveways and garages.
Favorite local haunts here include Livin’ the Pie Life, Randolph’s Bakery, Arrowine, Cowboy Cafe, District Taco, Barston’s Child Play, Lemoncello and Cherrydale Hardware.
Word to the wise stay away from the Lee-Harrison Starbucks weekdays from 2-4pm during school months. Trust us.
