According to the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors the trends we’re already seeing in this “early spring” market makes it difficult to truly make year-over-year comparisons. Despite a 14% dip in the number of homes sold in January compared to last year’s pandemic-fueled activity, transactions were on par with January sales in years prior. While the number of new listings is down compared to a year ago, it is actually up 32% compared to the number of new listings in December 2021.
Sellers entering the market today have an opportunity to tap into some substantial equity if done right and of course, if they have a place lined up to live after they sell!
